I would say that if its comfortable to you ...and you are able to make contact with the ball regularly then its ok....there is no right or wrong... there are stances that maximize different aspects of the hitting game but nothing is ever wrong...if you are in "the best stance" but are unable to get a good swing on the ball then its not really "the best stance" for you .... stick with whats comfortable and whats working....once you are making constant contact...learn the differnt stances to help manipulate ball placement and strike zone... Good luck

I agree with dave owens, if you are comfortable with it and your hitting well, then stick with it. Dont fix something thats not broke. If you are not comfortable with it or you are not hitting well with it then you may want to get help from a batting coach.

Comfort is key as Dave Owens says. Whenever I'm coaching, I tell players to think like an athlete. If you think about how other sports stand, it's pretty much the same. If you are comfortable, balanced, strong and can make a powerful move to the ball, you're in good shape.
Think about a basketball player on defense, a tennis player getting ready to receive a serve, a golfer about to swing, or a surfer. They all are athletes so just think about an athletic position. It's where you are strongest.

I agree with Coach Ahearne above. Comfort is the key, but there are some definite aspects of a stance that need to be followed. Balance and control are probably the most important aspects of a proper baseball hitting stance.
