How to keep morale up w/ 7-9 years olds when we are losing every game so far? This is the 1st year for my kids, others teams are veterans.

Flag Football. Most of the kids are learning the basics. The other teams consist of Tackle football kids in the off season.

Just continue to make practice fun for them. Alot of coaches make the mistake of getting away from teaching fundamentals. They will get better and start winning. Unfortunately, if you are playing teams that are veterans, they have worked through some of this already. Hang in there, next year your team will have some vets!

That's a really tough answer, but you have to focus on the positive things that have happened for your team so far. Make them understand that they should be having fun while learning and playing the game of football, and do something with them at the end of the season that may help them enjoy their season.

Don't worry about the score of the game during the game just play and have fun that is what it is about, fundamentals. I coached CYO girls basketball loosing more than winning but I think I can say they had fun and they learned somewhat.

I coached 10-12 yr olds last season and we went 0-7. What I did to motivate them was focused on having fun and improvements. By the end of the year nearly all my kids wanted to keep playing. You will have a few kids who don't understand and want to win but at a young age its about learning and not so much the competing aspect!
