Question
She does use knee savers. I have just heard too many stories of girls having really bad knees even before they get out of high school. I am not even sure she will be catching her whole career...she is only 9 after all. I am just trying to be educated in case she does. thank you!!!

Well, im a catcher too. IM only 11 but i had to get rid of my knee savers because i go to a personal trainer and she was a catcher too, i learned the proper way to set up fof the pitch so my knees wouldnt hurt

i am a catcher to i am on 14u and you have to build up your legs so that you dont but all ur pressure on your knees because that will hurt them...so the best thing to do is work your legs then you wont hurt your knees.

I also got a personal trainer who said to get rid of knee savers. Im 15 and Im a catcher. At the age your daughter is at, I suggest keeping them but when she gets older, I would start getting her legs stronger to support her knees and they will not hurt as much if at all.

I was in that same spot a couple years ago, still am, but I would just have her strech after each time she is out there. Plus, I also strech when ever I got up to get the that I missed, like bending my knee higher and then take a big stride.

I am 11 but when I was 9 I was the catcher for a travel team and I had to sit out 2 tournaments because of my knees. I am not allowed to catch anymore. Limit her catching time and alternate with other catchers. I really hope she doesnt get hurt.
P.S, I had Knee Savers also.
