keep your hands up about ear level...do not bend you front knee, lock it down once you load.... remember when you load hands up lock down front leg. drive you hands down at the ball. this has helped my daughter alot. the higher her hands the less she drops her shoulder....hope this helped

In fastpitch softball the pitch is coming flat to the batter versus downward as in baseball & slow pitch softball. Therefore, you need to get your shoulders level at the start of the swing & keep them that through the strike zone.

    To accomplish this:
    1. As you step into the swing, keeping your hands upby the ear, drop your front shoulder about 2 inches as if going down to get a closer look at the ball, while at the same time sdlightly bending your front knee. You will feel like your are about to hit the ball straight into the ground at this point.

    2. Next pull your bottom hand towards the pitcher at the height of the ball & at this point your shoulders will return to a level position & your bat will stay flat through the strike zone for about 3 feet versus the six inches it does when the back shoulder drops.

    3. When your bottom hand reaches full extension, snap the bat through the strike zone with the top hand & turn hard with your hips for more power. If done correctly, your shoe laces will be facing the pitcher.

The most important thing to remember is that both eyes have to be on the ball as it makes contact with the bat! Your chin should be at the front shoulder when you start & at the back shoulder when you finish.

I have taught this technique to hundreds of batters with great success. Good luck!
