Question
My girls are serving well, a few have moved on to the overhand serve. But they are not receiving the serve well, there are two girls who can boom the ball back over, but most either let it drop in front, or bump once and then the ball drops, need to figure out how to get the other girls to move, move move to the ball and also follow it all the way to the net...

A really cool and fun drill my old coach did with me and my team to get us moving to the ball was where only two girl were on the cort (on the same side) and everybody else was on the other side, each person on the other side would get a chance to serve the ball over and the two girls would have to run to get the ball, they would compete agints each other on who can get the ball first and over the net.

well to get them to the ball you could set a goal of how many volleyballs to bump back then when they pass it make the goal higher and higher that always gets us working hard and tell them they need to work as a TEAM and don't be scared of the ball i have been hit in the face a million times but that never stops me also you should like get them in a line and set them short balls then they will have to move to get to it anyways or dive for it ( i preffer diving i absolutely hate to see the ball drop so i will dive for ANYTHING!!!) hope it works!

If you are only in third grade give it some time. When you are younger most girls just want to hit the ball over the net. In another year or two you might be having three hits. I hope this encourages you to play volleyball longer and know what to expect.
