What is the best offense to run against the 3-1-1 halft court press trap for 5th grade girls?

We can not press full court until 4th, the star team is very athletic and runs this aggresive 3-1-1 trapping defense starting right at the half court not allowing teams to get into their offense. We are taller then them and slower. We do try to play transition ball. Any ideas thanks.

I would have one person designated to set a pick on one of the 3 who are defending up top, and the pt. guard drives when the pick is set, just to get it across court. Once she's across have court you should have the advantage because 3 people are up top which leaves at least 2 of your players down low at your goal.

Pull the defense to one side (dribble into the trap). Have the center run the baseline staying on the ball side. If your guard isn't open, that means the third defender up top is on her. Then you have a 2 on 3 situation in the back. Either bounce pass to the center who is out wide at the baseline or skip pass to the open forward. Shoot, Score!

I'm a fan of picks and motion. Don't allow your players to bunch up. Remember, pass against the zone, don't dribble. As Leanne said, invite the trap. That will always leave one of your players open for a pass. And unless the passing lane is so open you can drive a truck through it, bounce passes work best against a trapping zone press. Teach your girls to look for that soft spot in the zone. Find the holes and make crisp passes. Good luck.
