    Erin,

I commned you on your venture. I would start with some sports related companies in your area. It shouldn't take a lot of money to get started.

Little League Baseball should have some ideas as well. How much do you need?

Most of my leagues funds come from player registrations. We charge anywhere
from $40 to $75 per player depending on what age group they are in. We have
approximately 200 players starting at age 5 up to age 14-15. Each player is also
required to participate in a fundraiser such as selling candy bars or cash calendars.
    Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for your input. My biggest expense is getting a pitching machine for the Rookies. The other equipment I think I can enough donations and funds via fundraising. I wasn't sure if there were any grant programs out there or not.

    Erin,

If you can't get a pitching machine, how about using the coaches to pitch to the kids? Most of the leagues in our area have coaches pitch.

Thanks for all the great input! The league my girls have played in (up here in the city) has always had a pitching machine, so I didn't realize we could do coach pitch. I'd prefer a pitching machine, but that's a good option if that isn't in the budget. I'm really not sure about exactly how much money I'll need yet. It really depends on the amount of interest I can generate with the girls in the area. Hopefully it will be a huge turn out. I'm hoping to have 2-3 teams in each division for our league.

CSPN Sports will give you an hour show per week to broadcast a sports talk show about your league during its season, then about sports in general during your off season. Two broadcasters will host your show, as long as they meet our age requirements of 10-19. Don't worry about mistakes. This is a learning process to teach young people that their are other positions in sports besides the players.

More importantly, we will broadcast your show across the net free of charge. You will be given twelve commercial spots to sell, and you make keep 100% of the revenue. You will raise THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS for your organization. and you make keep 100% of the revenue

    Thank you
