Question
I'm currently a freshman in high school. I have no trouble with takedowns, getting out of the bottom, or breaking down while on top, but from there, i'm stuck. Help?

i'd work for a two on one and then circle towards the head to turn them, or if they post an elbow run a half nelson, when they base up, cross-face and work for a cradle

spladle, cradle, half-nelson...i am also a freshman in highschool i need more help on sum takedowns i can do a couple good i just want a bigger variety on what to do

Try a Cow-Catcher. It's done from a front head lock. Pretty easy to do.
Also the Peterson. It works on JV kids since they don't usually know how to counter it.
Ask your coach about them. -
Stick the legs in and power half!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when trying to get out from bottom its important to keep moving. like a stand up to a sit out to a switch. its good to put a couple moves.

I would go for a crossface cradle, because if they lean to one side you can cradle but if they lean to another side then you can butcher.

I would recommend finishing your takedown right into a nearfall situation. I used to finish my single or double leg takedown by putting one arm between his knees so when we landed and he turned, I could lift the lower leg. This rotates the hip so his butt is flat on the mat. Some people call it a Navy ride, I've also heard it called a Purdue, but the main thing is, your arm is over the near leg and under the far leg. As you lift the lower leg, he's going to turn to get off his butt and if he turns away - cradle him (far leg cradle), if he turns towards you - half nelson him (half nelson crotch). The main idea is to eliminate the middle move (the breakdown). Go from takedown straight to nearfall, which also catches most guys by surprise because while they are still thinking takedown counter, you are already thinking nearfall points. Enjoy!!
