To better answer your question, could you let us know your age, if you play softball or baseball, how many years, and are you in a recreation club like Little League, or a higher level of play?

    1. Very cool that you want to make this jump! I'd really suggest finding a recommended pitching coach and attending sessions regularly. Focus hard on developing the basic form. Listen to your coach. If your coach says to practice arm circles for two weeks before starting your leap--do what the coach says. Call a local college coach and tell them what your trying to do. Ask if you can stop by and work of basic form, or if there is a pitcher on their that you can hang with to learn from. You have a lot of work ahead of you, but if you are competitor, willing to listen and be patient, it will be worth it.

You just need to first find a wind up your gonna do. I would recomend doing Jennie
Finch's because I do it and it's not that complicated. Also your not gonna hurt
yourself when you pitch(like slapping your leg). Also you can go onto Jennie Finch's
page here on we play and see her show different kinds of pitches and how to do her
wind up. But it's totally up to you in your choice of a wind up. Also the key to being
a good pitcher is practicing!!!!! Practice helps soooo much!!!

im 13 and ive benn pitching for 7 years:) im not going to say its not going to be hard because it will be, but practice will help you get the basic form nailed after you find one that works for you. what i did was i found a pitch that i wanted to learn that wasn't very complicated(like a change up was the one i used) and i worked on the pitches that was needed to get to that goal(in my case all it was was a fastball) and that is for motovation perposes. and then work up to the one that you want to learn by taking baby steps, but i would recomend a pitching coach to help you with pitches after the fastball. and it may help to look at some different ways to throw a fastball like a two seam or a four seam because the four seam is WAY easier for me to throw. but remember, it will be SOOOOOO much harder without PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE and maybe even somemore PRACTICE!!!!!!! lol. best of luck!!!!! let me know how things turn out!!!!!

Practice doesn't make perfect. It makes champions. Get all the practice you can possibly get, without throwing your arm or shoulder out.
