-
you cross your legs and kick

I work my way around my opponents fingers to loosen them up and then I get back up to my wrestling stance after I get out of the cradle pin to resume the match.
-
figure four and kick.

It all depends on the cradle. Some people have longer arms so you can pop your head out and roll, others you can hook your legs together and kick out. At the same time, for either of these, you always wanna be working on hand control. If you can break your apponents lock while trying these other methods, it often gets you off your back, and sometimes you can get a reversal.

Don't get into a cradle

hand fighting i would say

Take the arm and put it over your head
-
immediately peel the fingers before you get to you back.

Wrap your hands over his hand knuckles (not his finger knuckles) and squeeze quick and hard so that the knuckles kind of compress towards each other (pointer side compresses towards the pinky side). It makes his hands elongate and reduces the power of his grip. It also hurts. Then you kick out hard. And turn over, of course.
