Question
I have 3 assistant coaches so normally we divide them into 4 groups. Last week all of them canceled. So there I am with 30 K-st graders and no way to divide them without leaving some unattended. I asked for help from the parents but got none. I did the best i could doing ball handeling and lay up drills and played monkey in the middle but there are just so many of them I couldn't give them all enough attention. All of the parents that refused to help sure had a lot to say about there child having to wait their turn. I really need drills that can keep all of them active at the same time so there is no waiting in line and so everyone is happy and learning.

running, because if there parents are complaining then you could just line them up and do the proper running abilities, kids at that age dont have a good attention span... You could also get foam balls, and line them up on the floor and they throw the balls in the air like how u would shoot a basket (thats how i learned) ask me later about anything else :) GOOD LUCK

Wow Christina, what have you gotten yourself in to? Consider recruiting some specialists for help....say a few 6th graders. I'm sure they would be more helpful than your flakey assistants and parents.

christina i would recomend using the drill called monkey in the middle its a great game to learn passing and defence. all you have them do is stand in a circle and have one to three people in the middle. the ones in the middle of the circle is the defense,. what they are trying to do is block the others passes. the ones that make the circle pass to someone thats NOT standing right beside them and it would teach them how to bounce pass, chest pass and pass over thier heads.
