you need a lot of commitment and dedication. You have to be willing to learn and take care of yourself by not overworking yourself. Set a goal and be committed to getting it. Be a good team player and have fun.

    Sarah,
I agree with coach Lia Roque; A dream is like a wish until you set it as a goal. Then you make a plan (objectives) to reach your goal. Don't forget to set time limits too.

If you are talking about the same feeling I had a year ago, its the best, most unbelievable feeling I have ever felt in my life. To love softball so much that you dont care if you have to practice 24 hours, 7 days a week. To the point where you dont care if you have to run stadiums for 5 hours straight in 100 degree heat. You love your sport so much that you will do absolutely anything it takes to fulfill your dream. Trust me, I know exactly what its like.
But unfortinately, I dont feel that way anymore, and that is because of mistakes that I have made. But I'm working very hard to get that feeling again. Like other people have said, dont over work yourself. You may think that there is no such thing as taking a break, but there is. Dont over work yourself because you will get burned out. You might think you wont, but eventually, you wil. If softball starts to become a chore to you, take a break asap, before you dont love it anymore. Dont let anyone or anything stand in your way. If you are going through some hard times, work those things out before you step foot on the ball feild. Never practice or play while you are upset. Always play with a smile. Never stop having fun. Those are the mistakes I made.
The good things I did and you should remember are, dont let anyone tell you,you cant do something. Always work to prove them wrong. Have goals for yourself that are reasonable for you to accoplish that work up to your dream. Always play the game with love! Always find ways to make yourself better physically, and mentally.
One last thing I did wrong and is the biggest mistake I made, if your dream isnt there for you anymore, because some people took it away from you, dont let that keep you from loving the game and working hard. There are still lots of opportunities that continue to grow everyday. I know that it wasnt what you had your heart set on, but dont belittle yourself afterwards and set lower goals than what you had. Keep working hard.
Please take my advice, I know what I'm talking about. I have felt that undescribable love for the game, and then be pushed down to the exact opposte. Good luck with whatever your dream may be. Always love what you do!

To reach your dream means hardwork, dedication, determination and the love of
what your doing. You need to work hard at what your trying to achieve. Meaning practicing your sport by going to clinics, attending team practices, or just working out at home.
Dedication you need to be dedicated to your sport meaning you show up to as
many practices as you can(unless your sick or you have some emergency). Also
you put in as much effort sweat and every last breath to your sport. Determination
meaning that you focus on your dream by working hard and not letting anything
stop you or get in your way. Don't let anyone tell you you can't do it because
in your heart you know you want that dream. But when following your dreams
make sure you put in effort in school because education is very important and
coaches know that too. But go after your dreams and if you stumble while
trying to reach it, get right back up again, and again.:)
