Getting nerves or fear is normal for anybody at any age at any event. To help get over this is to make sure you follow step by step progression and mastering each progression at a safe matter. This help the kid to break down the skills and work on each part by doing drills or excercises. The whole idea of doing this is to deconstruct the skill and making sure the child understand what it is that they are doing. Most of the time the kids dont understand the skill develop fear. Helping them understand it in thier mind and doing strength and conditioning will help ease the fear or nerves. Most important this helps to develop positive self-steam and confidence! Good luck and be patient.
