Work hard. Decide to commit. Also learn how to use your length to you advantage. Short guys height wrestling tall guys.

I just posted a video on my blog of a guy who does this extremely well. His name is Ben Askren. He was a 2 time NCAA Champion from Missouri and an Olympian. He knows how to use his strength to his advantage.

He looses this match but watch it anyways. Watch his match here http://bit.ly/47WlGr

Ask your coaches to teach how to leg ride. Tall (basketball player body) wrestlers can cause fits for other wrestlers with good leg riding moves and the good thing is that these are not muscle moves.

You need to consider your length as an advantage. Moves that force your opponent to stretch or reach also enable you to create a leverage situation. Create situations that maintain space because you can bridge that gap much easier than your opponent can. Along those lines, tight situations will help your opponent, so keep that in mind. There are lots of moves out there, but being kind of short myself, I hesitate to recommend any. Best of Luck.

just 5 push ups. all the way down, chest to the floor then all the way up. Do this before each meal. Do not hold you breathe or you'll get a headache. After a week, go for ten. Add 5 every week or two. Next thing you know, you're up to 100 push ups non stop. Then it's full steam ahead.

    1. by the way, my most tenacious competition were the tall skinny guys. Don't believe the muscle myth about wrestling. Still go for the push up though. Somewhere in the mix, eventually add some pull up, chin ups, sit ups and dips. A wrestler should never have to lifts weights. No amount of time in the weight room can do what the same amount of mat time can do.
