How can I get my daughter to land on her feet in a cartwheel?

She can not get her feet up and straighten her legs and land on her feet doing a cartwheel. Is there anything I can tell her to picture in her mind while doing this? She won't practice it anymore. =(

When I coached we used a pattern of Xs and Os on the floor to help them see where to place their hands and feet. It looked like this x x oo x x and you start with your feet on one set of Xs cartwheel into the rest of the pattern. Tell her to point her feet to the ceiling as she goes over. It takes lots of practice. :)

I teach cartwheels by having them start on a raised surface xx oo and then land their feet onto a lower surface xx. It makes it easier to land. I also spot them by kneeling behind them and supporting their hips as they go over and land. It also helps to practice levers to strengthen the legs and back muscles for the landing. A level is a teeter totter action while standing on one leg. This should be done on both legs. Hope that helps!
