Hopefully they are. I'd suggest talking with kids/coaches/parents who have gone to local camps and get opinions there.
Chances are, you'll get a good response to your questions here on Weplay, but I'd also encourage you to surf the web and find info on your own. There are also some great books out there on both softball/baseball.
Generally, there is a lot of good info about softball available at your local ASA fields, high schools and colleges. Stop by a field and watch and chat with coaches in between games. Call high school and college coaches--you'd be amazed at how willing some are to chat about softball.
Sportskool, Weplay, Youtube are also good resources, but your best bet is to get out there and watch, talk to people, read, and find out what works for you.

Anything that is new and where you will get to meet new people for me is fun. Softball camps will give you the opportunity to learn new things about softball and of course meet new friends who have the same interest
