If I'm in 8th grade and I've never cheered b4 am I to late to learn all the tumbling and other stuff? I've NEVER cheered b4 bt my friend wants me to try out for the tem with her and it sounds like alot of fun so I've been doing some reserch. I'm scared that I might have realized my dream a little to late. Alot of girl's start when there really, really young! And I really want to be on the high school competitive cheer team next year, but is a year enough time to get ready for everything you have to do?

You absolutely should start! Sure there are other girls who have been doing it for years, but now is the perfect time for YOU! I didn't start until I was in the 7th grade. I went on with cheerleading and poms thru the rest of my junior and senior high school years and my pom squad was the #1 squad for our pom competition. I was always popular, always had girlfriends to hang out with, and had to have good grades in order to maintain status on the squad. It was the ABSOLUTE BEST MEMORIES of those years. Trust me, your friend will be just as nervous as you are when you two try out. But just have fun with it, and you can't go wrong! Good luck to you and your friend!!!

ok.you are never to oldd to start.your age no way.just remember to strech before tumbling.have a mattresss or mats in-case you fall.and always have an expirenced friend help you.and if your skool has a JV team it would be better then going straight forward to competetive.butt i am 100% positive that if you work hard you will make it to a Varsity or Competetive team.
