Hi Angel. You have two options...

1. On your homepage...click the "Edit" link on your groups module. Within that list you can uncheck groups you don't want shown.

2. If you don't want to be friends or updated on your old team at all, then go to that group and under the logo and details is a link that reads "Leave Group." If you click that you'll no longer be a part of them.
