How do I get the love back???? Please Help

For the past year I have been going non stop with softball but I didnt mind at all because it was my life and nothing in the whole world could have made me happier than to play softball or train for it. But I have recently had some MAJOR changes in my life and I just dont love it anymore. I know I love it but its not there and it is changing how I play now. How do you think I could get back into it???? Any suggestion would be great. Thanks.

    Sara,
This is a sad and very common problem among young athletes who have been playing their sport for a long time. They train and play for years so that they can make the high school or college team only to burn out before they ever get the chance to play there.
You need to take some time out. Tell your coach and your parents of your dilemma. Hopefully they will agree and suggest the same solution. May you can try a different sport for a while to stay in shape. Who knows, it may open a new chapter in your sports career!

I agree with Jack it sounds like you are burned out and need a change of pace for a while. Taking a break does not mean you are giving up on the sport. Remember sports are suppose to be for fun. If you are not having fun and enjoying yourself you are missing out on the reason for your participation.

If you can not take a complete break, cut back, and find another activity to fill the void. Also if possible see if you can student coach. Sometimes it is nice to see the sport from another point of view and to grow in another direction.

Step back. Put down your glove, for a day...for two days...then three days...

    or

Volunteer to help a softball team of beginners

    or

Sign up for something completely non-athletic. Cerebral.

You will be begging to play ball again before you know it.
