My son weighed in at 137 on game day. He used to be a mends 32. Hes now at a mens large. He wears a mens 10.5 shoe. Hes as tall as the coaches and taller than the players. He lost about 10 lbs already. He was heartbroken on game day that he couldnt play.. He is not fat. He is just tall. Now I can see his Adams apple, his neck clavicle bones, and his veins in his arms. I would never in my lifetime thought I would be dealing with this weight issue with a son. This is truly not fair!!!!!

There are some kids who are genetically too tall to be able to make the weight limits of some youth football teams. Or, they may have an exceptionally large frame. I have talked to some very large NFL players who did not play youth football because they were way too big to make the weight limits. They didn't play until middle school, where there is no weight limit. Whatever you do, do not force your son to get to an unhealthy weight for his height. This can stunt whatever genetic "gifts" he may have to help him with his football future.
