Question
I have been dancing since I was 3 and I have been competing for 6 years. I have never done cheerleading before and my tryouts are this monday through friday. None of my friends are trying out or are very supportive. My mom also tells me that I am a little too fat. What should I do? Does anyone have any advice or suggestions about anything??

just have fun is what im going to say since you have been dancing so long it should not be so hard because u know how to move and a quick memory
-
BE SURE TO SMILE AND ACT LIKE YOU ARE LOVING EVERY MINUTE OF
THE TRYOUT. IF YOU MESS UP KEEP SMILING AND KEEP GOING. GOOD
LUCK~ -
you remind me of myself...i have been dancing for 13 years and competeing for about three.
if you happen to know the dance they are teaching then DO NOT go ahead and do moves that they havent taught yet. this way they dont think that you know the dance and that you are just a super fast learner.
if you dont know the dance that they are teaching DO NOT make up your own moves. this makes the judges and the teacher/coach think that you think you can make better choreography.
durring tumbling drills, stick with what everyone is doing at the time. for example, if the team is working roundoffs, dont go off and do your roundoff back hand spring. This is because you dont want to seem too big headed and think that you are "too good" to do what everyone else is doing.and just remember the saftey of others
hope this helps :)

also remember to look nice in grooming, make sure you smile the whole time you are in front of the judges!!and make sure if you fall to get up immediately even if your hurt!!remember that 1st impressions count!!

dont act like your nervous, cheerleading is about confidence. cheering and dancing are similar in some aspects. if your confident and show the judes all youve got, youll make it for sure!

iv been cheering for 5 years and when i went to tryouts they taught us to do stuff ahead of times now not all gym places do dat so my best advice is before going look up every detail about cheerleading and practice practice practice and by the time tryouts come watever they ask u to do u will no it good luck.

Smile, smile, and more smiles. I've seen it time and time again. A girl who smiles and has a great attitude will always beat out a girl who doesn't. Try to make sure your kicks are high and you know the history of your team. It doesn't hurt to make sure you wear your teams colors in your hair like ribbons, hair ties, etc. Good luck and have fun!
-
just smile, keep your motions tight, and most importantly, have fun with it!
-
do your best!!! and smile and have fun
-
Be tight and precise!! Cheer with confidence.
-
cartwheels and backhand springs are good moves.
