#1 TIP - Seek professional help. If you are not already going to a gym for tumbling you should be. There are so many good tumbling coaches out there that will help you. You may have to try a few before you find the right fit.

At home the best thing you can do it work on getting a strong handstand. Your handstand it the most important skill in all of your tumbling!!! I promise you those with strong, technically correct handstands are the better tumblers.

You can also practice your straight gym and work to increase your overall flexibility emphasizing your shoulder flexibility.

If you have good form and technic combined with safe qualified training you will get your back handspring. Good training will help to alleviate the fear. Not only do you need confidence in your self you must have the desire to perform a back handspring. There is a huge difference between wanting a BHS and wanting to do a BHS yourself.

Make sure your basic tumbling skills are mastered. The more skills you can do the more confidence and physically prepared you will be.

Keep working at it and you will do it. Best of Luck,

I do not recommend trampolines unless you already have one with good form or a coach standing with you giving you corrections. You want to avoid repeating motions of bad form this will create bad habits and form that will lead to a weak BHS that you will not be able to tumble out of.

I curse the backyard trampolines!!! LOL. A tumbling coaches worse enemy.
