are there any ways to get my stamina up alot for jogging and sprinting in my softball practeces?

my weakest point in sports in my endurance. i get so tired so fast even when warming up. i am very strong though and im getting a bit fast but i would love to increase my speed and endurance to the max but want to know if there is any other way besides the constant repetition of running and running which really hurts my legs and makes me breath sooo hard.

    Amy,
Start a goal setting program for self improvement. It's important that you realize that you are getting better and faster. Speed and endurance require two different training techniques. But unless there is an underlying physical problem, at your level you just need to do more running and more sprinting. Be careful though, excessive running and sprinting can lead to other physical problems. Stay positive & you'll see positive results!

    1. what is a good amount of jogging and sprinting then? my coach has us do 11 laps before practice 10 jogs and 1 walk. i have a bit of trouble finishing my laps at the pace that i go but if i try to go any faster i get to tired and cant finish at all. also my coach hardly ever makes us sprint and sprinting is what i like its like science a short burst of force is easier than a continuous attempt. so i would like to know like what is a good amount to do should i do more laps on my own time? or is that enough and i am just being impatient with my results?

    Amy,
Begin by keeping track of your progress. Run as many laps as you can without walking. Record that result, then next time set your goal a bit farther by at least 100 meters. Continue this routine until you can run the required distance without walking. You will be able to see your progress on paper. Running for distance takes a lot of courage and a positive attitude. Keep it up! Looks like you may need to practice your sprints on your own. Be careful not to overtrain or you may find yourself sidelined.
