My grandson has been waiting to play football. This was the year and he was told no. He weighs to much. Does he have to wait til H.S.?

My grandson, Gavin and his father are big people. There are some kids with X on there shirts because they are too small but are the right age. I don't think this is fair. This could discourage him from playing any sports.

As mentioned above there are leagues that havn't a weight restriction... I think that
what you may be facing is restriction's as to being able to run with the ball... What
happens is there is a weight restriction for certain player position's.. If a player
exceeds a certain weight, he is required to play as a lineman ... Which by the way
any good coach would be glad to have...

Well that's a new one on me, in this ever changing world... Just a couple point's
    if I may...
    1. I can see your concern... He shouldn't have to play, God knows where and
should be able to play near home and with school friends...
    2. Check to obtain the org. by laws... Every league should have them... A written
set of rules and not just a verbal from someone...
    3. Not sure on this one but if you think that they are being bias you could seek
    legal council...
    4. Like coach Dunn mentioned he could play for him put the info out there and the
    detail's around your area ...
Sorry I havn't had my first pot of coffee yet I'm sure theres better advice comming
but I'll ask some of my friends that are much better at this stuff than I...

I've used the 6/2 defense for 8-man football - does anyone have other options?
