BEST TO GET LESSONS FROM THE LOCAL PRO. AMATURE COACHES KNOW HOW TO RUIN THE KIDS AS THEY HAVE NO CLUE AS TO WHAT THEY ARE SOPOSE TO KNOW. IT IS LIKE GOING TO THE LOCAL BODY SHOP AND ASKING TO GET A NEW HEART. THEY HAVE AN IDEA BUT THAT WOULD BE A BIG TRAGEDY IF YOU HAD A BODY SHOP TRY AND PUT A HEART IN. THERE SHOULD BE CERTIFICATION THAT THEY AT LEAST BE COMPETENT. ONE TOLD ME TODAY THAT IN THE USA IT IS ELEGAL TO GIVE OUT FLIERS FOR OUR TRANING PROGRAM FOR YOUTH.

my suggestion would be to start with the basics, which would be working on his stance from the wind-up and the stretch position, work on his balance on and off the mound, good habits and break bad habits, good warmups and stretches before pitching.long toss is real good helps keep the arm strong and gets the arm stronger. reading books on pitching, dvd's pro basball pitcgers on tv or live and build his confidence it'll make him a better pitcher. try develop at least 3 different pitches 4 seam 2 seam and any pitch that he may feel comfortable throwing wothout hurting his arm.

In order to improve his arm the best thing is just to play catch from a beginning distance of about 30 feet and spreading 10 feet every three minutes until the ball do not get to the receiver. At that point begin to close the gap the same way. The throw shoul be a line not a fly ball. Remind your kid of throwing the ball using the basic different grips two seam fastball. 4-seam fastball and change up. Afetr he master that then you can go 40-50 feet throwing to a target which should be low as a strike zone. GOOD LUCK

ask around the league for people who have used various instructors, most have certain coaches that do a good job with teaching beginners. There may be a business that has batting instruction w/ cages, they usually have pitching instructors too.
There's TONS of DVD's available, from several hundred dollars to alot less, just hit the internet, they're everywhere. When I was looking several years ago, my son was 10, I didn't want to spend the big money for some of them only to find out that my son wasn't that interested. I found one that I think was very helpful, it was abaout 20 bucks or so, I keep hearing some of the same things now from the different instructors, so I think that it was a good investment. It was from www.freedommechanics.com. I found it on ebay, it's very basic, balance, elbow/shoulder allignment, trailing foot position, etc. but we started there and worked our way to more advanced routines.
    hope this helps....

YES SELF SURGERY. DO YOU READ A BOOK AND THEN TAKE OUT YOUR OWN GALBLADER. THOWING IS PUTING BACK SPIN ON THE BASEBALL. THE FIRST THING THAT AFECTS A THROW IS HODING THE BALL. JUST LIKE PLAYING A INSTRUMENT. IT HAS TO BE EXACT. SOORY BUT IT IS BEST SHOWN IN PERSON THAN TO DESCRIBE. WWW.HENRYSBASEBALLCLUB.COM 781 891 0621
