Sometimes we move to quick as the ball comes off the bat and this can make you run under the ball and then it falls behind you. Pause just a little and see where the ball is going before you move. Have mom and dad through the ball to you left and right and short and long. This will help

I did this drill with one of my coaches first you run like you were getting under the ball than have someone throw it and you have to make an adjustment to get it has help me out so much. And if you did not already know you never want to turn you back to the ball so if you have to go the other way all you have to do is drop step.
Good luck and never give up :)

Never make your first step in. It is much easier to run in for the ball then to go back. Also, try not to back-peddle. And try not to run with your glove up. I used to run with my glove up and it slowed me down, but it will help if you learn to keep your glove down until you get to the ball
