Tennis ball drill- Have them get into a three point stance. Coach starts at about a f
oot in front of them and holds the ball just low enough for the player to see it. You drop the ball and he trys to catch it. Then you move out another foot in front and so on. You can make it a competition to see who can go the furtherest. It teaches them to stay low and what it really does is gets them to fire out. If you want a little contact you can start putting a dummy between the player and the ball. For younger kids you may just want to put a ball on a cone and have two lineman race to see who can get the ball first.

years ago we had a Fun in the Mud Day where a coach would just make a mud hole and the line-men would do there differant drill's... I wasn't a line-coach or lineman but it was a fun thing to watch back in the day...

Use the NFL combine drill. Place 3 cones about a yard apart. Hold 2 blocking pads on the outer 2. The player must get in his stance and touch each cone, jumping like this.... middle cone (touch), outside cone (touch and engage pad), middle cone touch, other outside pad (touch and engage pad).

This teaches staying low, and also addresses coming out of the crouch quick as well as teaching a bit of lateral movement. Great drill for every blocker on your team.

Dont forget your fullbacks and Rbs too.....
