    Hi Denise -

I found a helpful video that demonstrates exactly how to move from a half press to full press for bases. You'll also find a few videos that are helpful for stunt spotters.

Make sure the prep (half) is perfected before moving to the full. The bases' hands will not change from the prep position to the extension. Once the prep is perfected, work on timing the full extension without a flyer. The count of 1, 2, down up is generally used for this. The back spotter should be holding the flyer's ankles and also lifts with the count. When you feel the timing has been learned, use the flyer. She should be tight and straight--no wobbling or bent knees. Be sure to have extra spotters in the four corners of the stunt. Discuss how you will dismount the stunt before you build it. Many beginners will bring the full extension back down to the prep position and then cradle.

since im a flyer what my bases do is they say 2,3 up. that way it gives me some time to steedy and then they say up soo we go up. and u shuld get the prep really go first then if u have any experienced flyers practice with them for the extension soo the bases get a feel of it..then put the regular flyer back up and practice..also make sure u have spotters and mats.. good luck, be safe, and have fun.

tell them that fulls are same as halfs, just their arms are straight.make sure that in a full, they are completely under the foot that they are holding

for a lib, the main bases hands are the same as a half and a full, the other base had one had under the foot and on top of the foot. back has the ankle and rear at first to push up. once in the lib the back spot keeps their hand on the ankle and their other hand on the back of the fliers thigh that is straight.

It is very important that they get the basics/fundementals down first. start with the step up drill and then work them into the prep extention. Make sure your flyer pulls everything up -pinch a penny- in other words if she is relaxed she is going to feel very heavy to the bases. she should stay tight through the stunt. bases should be lifting with their legs. this will save on back injuries. If needed start out in a swimming pool or a sponge pit. this way it is fun and the fear of falling won't be as great so they can focus on the stunt instead of falling. It is also important that weight training be established for your team. As far as hand placement there is no difference between the half extention and the full extention in where their hands go. the only difference is the extention of the arms. Make sure everything is bone over bone. make sure they have their timing together. Use a front and back spot to start out with. Have your back spot pull up on the flyers ankles or the bases wrist (whatever is more comfortable) this will take the weight of the flyer off the bases. Make sure your base are looking up at the flyer this will help with balance and in case she falls they can know which way she is falling and they can move with the stunt. I hope this helps
    cheers

oh and also if you get a chance go to a stunt/safety camp of some kind.
UCA has some great learning techniques. There are also training videos out there. Make sure your floors are matted really good.
It also helps if you put every thing to an 8 count

USASF offers great coaches training and certification classes. If you are not certified to teach them to go up past the half then it probably isn't safe for you to be doing it until you get the proper training yourself.
