what i do to get my jumps highier is usually use alot of leg power and set higher it works for me maybe it will work for u ;)

Plyometrics, box jumps, running stairs, Lunges, get in the weight room and work on your legs and probable more important then how high you jump is great technique. Video tape your jumps and master your technique. Like anything strength isn't developed overnight it takes hard work.

Mike is correct. Only thing I would add is jumping rope. Not the playground type, but like boxing training. It uses time intervals to build your calf muscles. Also work on squats when doing strength training. Make sure you have proper form or else you can damage your knees or back. It will take some time, but if you work on it diligently, you should start seeing some real results in about 8 weeks. No fast tracks or short cuts I've ever seen work on this.

Stretching on a regular basis will also help. Stretch your entire body before jumping. Always work both legs--right herkies & left herkies, etc. Working both legs in jumps will help all your jumps be more level.

My daughters gymnastic instructor told her to wear ankle weights when practicing the jumps. Don't wear them all the time. The jumps will be harder at first, but the extra weight will stregthen your jumps and when u take the weights off, your jumps will be easier. At least that's what we were told to do. I'm no expert.

PRACTICE ON SOMETHING BOUCY LIKE A TRAMPOLINE

I agree with the weighted routine...but also you might try plyometrics...Like jumping squats and power lunges...the object is to power through the movement and flow into the next repition...without catch repping...
for instance, your jumping squats should flow into one single movement....
this will help build fast twitch fiber in the muscles...which will help with your overall goal.
