What a nail biter!! I think my hair is a little thinner after today's game. I am so proud of how everyone played against Tulpehocken today. Our defense really stepped it up. Tulpy had some great opportunities to score but we applied the pressure kept them at bay. We also had some great opportunities to score which was why Coach Ed pretended to shock me with a defibrillator on the side lines. Mid fielders were on fire. It's amazing how much of a difference a couple of inches can make when trying to score.
Despite the fact that we were short 3 players and had only one sub, we pulled together nicely. Everyone rallied and played their hearts out. We gave Pottsville one heck of a match. Pottsville is undefeated this season so far. After this game I feel that they were pretty lucky that we didn't have our entire team.
I am happy to see the girls doing what we teach them at practice. There is still plenty of soccer left this season. I am pumped to get back at it on Monday.
As you all saw, we are all playing great together. We are playing clean and aggressive. Defense is really stepping up, delaying and destroying opposing attacks. Our mid fielders are hustling and showing their speed. There were definitely more positives than negatives.
Coach B. and I have several things that we will be working on in practice this week. Ball control, passing/receiving and shots on goal.
Regardless of the final score, I am proud of how all of you played today. I saw a lot of great Passing, communication, and overall effort.
Defense really stepped it up by closing the gap and pressing the ball forward to our mid fielders. Mid fielders did an awesome job getting by their defenders. We now have to work on keeping ball control and getting those goals in.
Mack was our savior today as she was able to stop some slick shots. Browne got hit in the face, brushed it off and kept on playing. Everyone kept their emotions in check and played tough to the end.
I am super excited about our game tomorrow. Hope to see everyone there!
