Many of you already know that Squat predicted the Washington Nationals will win the World Series in 2010. But it was a tough opener against the Phillies for Squat, Screech, the official mascot of the Washington Nationals, and the rest of the Nats family.
The Nats jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead on the defending NL champs, and Squat was feeling very good about his prediction. However, the Phillies scored the next 11 runs. Placido Polanco had six RBIs in the game and Ryan Howard hit a homer.
The Nats lost the game 11-1. Squat is still standing by his prediction that the Nationals will win the World Series in 2010, and reminding everyone that this is just the first of 162 games. But if this keeps up, it will be another long season for the Nats.
So please Nats, call up Stephen Strasburg!
