Three day seminar and other festivities with five of the greatest Jiu Jitsu practitioners in the world. A gathering of this many Black Belts has never happened in Oregon. Come join me and learn from the best. Pedro Sauer, Luis Heredia, Relson Gracie and Rey Diogo will be joining me and Anibal Lobo as we kick off the first pure Gracie Jiu Jitsu academy in Oregon.

Pedro Sauer:

Pedro Earned his Black Belt from Helio and Rickson in 1985. Long recognized for the superior technical efficiency of his jiu-jitsu, he then began his career as an instructor in 1986 when asked to teach with an organization known in Brazil as Corpo/Quatro (Body of Four) where he taught and continued his training under renowned jiu-jitsu instructors Alvaro Barreto (who is a red belt master under Helio Gracie).

After moving to Utah in December of 1990, he taught as one of only two non-Gracie black belts under the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy (run by Rorion and Royce Gracie). In October of 1996, he became an official representative Black Belt Instructor under the Rickson Gracie American Jiu-Jitsu Association.

Relson Gracie:

Son of the legendary Helio Gracie, Relson Gracie moved to Hawaii in 1988. He began learning Jiu-Jitsu at 2 and entered his first competition at the tender age of 10! He was the Brazilian National Champion for 22 years straight, and during this period went undefeated. He became so popular that he attained the nickname "Campeao" or "Champion" among his friends and fans. Upon his arrival to Honolulu, it was with great pleasure that Relson introduced the art of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu to the Aloha State. Relson continues to instruct his students in Hawaii, across the Mainland United States and Brazil. He and his top instructors have lead his team to an unprecedented amount of individual and team competition titles. Relson along with his brother Rorion are the highest ranked and most experienced Jiu-Jitsu practitioners actively teaching in the United States.

Luis Heredia:

The strength of a man must be measured by how much heart he has, not muscle or ego. People should be viewed by their respect for each other, the love in their heart and their passion towards life. Before understanding JJ, I was confused and uncertain about the direction of my life. I worried about not having as much as the next man, and being smaller than most, I had fear of a bigger guy. Luckily, many years ago God put me in the path of Rickson Gracie. Through Jiu-Jitsu, Rickson has always taught me to believe in myself. He has shown me that with a positive attitude, good eating habits and faith in the Jiu-Jitsu path, Jiu-Jitsu would be a vehicle for my success in life. While there have been many different paths available, I have always given priority to the Jiu-Jitsu path. It has been the best decision of my life. More than ever, today I have proof of the results of believing in something and someone who is the leading authority in the martial arts today. Rickson's teachings have given me the capacity to make honesty, creativity, friendship, courage, balance, faith, health and respect the foundation of my character. For this I owe Rickson all the respect, devotion and loyalty as a soldier. There were many times in my life when I thought about quitting. As I matured, I realized that to achieve what you want it is not going to be easy. Today quitting doesn't even come to mind. No matter which paths are available to you, to be something you have to choose something. It is the only way to suceed. Thankfully, I chose Jiu-Jitsu. Today, Jiu-Jitsu is part of my blood. I teach Jiu-Jitsu with passion. It is my way of giving back to God by helping God make people uncover the positive aspects of the human spirit.
