Kotoushu Ozeki has broken the Mongol strangle hold on the Emperor's Cup and won the Summer Basho championship. By beating Amma on the next to the last day the Mongol Grand Champion, Hakuho, was left standing helplessly in the Hanamichi(Flower way)unable to make a last ditch comeback. The celebration will culminate today after a final,inconsequential bout against an aging Ozeki-best left unnamed. Will this mean that once again young Japanese women will come flocking to the tournaments to giggle over the handsome Ozeki? I doubt it, but he has made thing much more interesting for the demographic that does follow sumo.
