CAMP PHILOSOPHY For twenty plus years, The Middle Tennessee Wrestling Camps have provided outstanding instruction and competitive opportunity to hundreds of wrestlers ranging in ability from the young and inexperienced to seasoned champions. The instructors are some of the finest high school coaches in the state who know how to win. As a camp participant, you will learn moves which have optimum percentage of success at the high school level. Instruction covers technique, strategy, and match preparation. These camps are for champions and for those who intend to be champions. STAFF Gordon Connell (McCallie): One of the most successful coaches in the state, excellent technician Pat Simpson (Father Ryan): Fourteen State Championship teams, superb mat skills Designed to benefit the novice as well as the experienced wrestler entering the 7th -12th grade in the fall of 2012. Emphasis on takedowns, pins, tilts, escapes, and reversals Videos of international, college, and high school wrestling matches shown as instruction. Cost is $125 per wrestler and includes instruction and a camp t-shirt. Each wrestler should bring his own lunch, though snacks and drinks will be provided at a nominal price. The tournament this year will be modified freestyle;
There will be one 3 minute period w/ 10 point tech fall.
Rules are the same as folkstyle except if wrestlers go out of bounds, they always restart in the neutral position.
