Iron Steve (ok, "Half" Iron Steve)

In 2004, I competed in Ironman Florida. My finishing time of 12:21 was respectable for a middle aged former athlete. My finishing time wasn't as important as the entire 5 month experience leading up to the race. In so many positive ways it was life changing.

For the last 2 1/2 years I've been laser focused on getting my new company, Weplay off the ground. Having a company in New York City, and two sons in Long Beach, CA has been a brutal price to pay.

So several years and about 30 pounds later I've decided to do another race. In what can only be described as an exercise in really bad judgement on June 5, 2010 in Kona Hawaii, I plan to race in the 2010 Ironman 70.3.

    Stephen Hansen slow man, not a great runner, especially after swimming a couple of miles and a 112 mile bike ride!

    Stephen Hansen That's GREAT! at IM Florida i think I did 112 miles in about 5:20 or so. The Half IM in June is 56 miles and i figure it will be somewhere around 2:40 depending on the wind. The ride will be after a 1.2 mile ocean swim and the Queen K highway can be brutal and very windy, plus we go uphill to Hawi so it could take a bit longer.
