Info
On March 16th, 2010, Steven Espinosa was diagnosed with leukemia. He has been fighting since and is on his way to recovery. He hopes to be released from the hospital on March 26th, 2010. Prognosis is good as he started with 94% cancerous cells and is now down to 8%. He is looking forward to rejoining his baseball teams for Spring and Summer baseball in a week or two. He will then shift focus to playing his 2nd season of football for the Cortlandt Panthers.
Steven has adopted the nickname "Ironman" due to the valve placed within his chest for his treatment.

“Hello Sports fans! It is a beautiful sunny day here at Shea Stadium, a great day for baseball. We are in for a real treat as all time great Cy Young takes the hill against recently called up Stevie Ironman Espinosa. Espinosa sports a 4 pitch arsenal, 4 seam and 2 seam fastballs, knuckle curve and a filthy change up. By all accounts, the kid is every bit of a champion and has electric stuff, the kind of young leader who comes along only once in a lifetime. When asked about the match up, Young said "it is great to be challenged by such young talent". When asked about the prospects of facing Ruth, Robinson, Mantle, Shoeless Joe, et al and about todays battle with Young, the Ironman replied simply," I have been through worse, and did ok. This is a game I love and I am just happy to be in the big leagues. Those guys have had their chance, now I have mine".”Ron Espinosa Hello Sports fans! Hopefully in time to pitch for his team in the Fall playoffs.”Ron Espinosa Well the Summer was a big success but ended with Steve going in for a transplant. “Been a while since we posted here. Really busy spring and Summer. Steve has played in 41 of 42 games and started 16 of them on the mound losing only 1 with an era under 2. He is getting his strength back and is starting to hit the ball again as well. is teams have won three tournaments and a regular season championship already. Thanks for checking in on him!”Ron Espinosa Been a while since we posted here.
