“Communication is the key to making everything run smoothly.” wrote on-the-go mother of two and our Team Parent of the Week, Terri Dixon from Charlotte, North Carolina!
Dixon finds that communication is an important part of her everyday life. She is a full time mother with a license in cosmetology and has been married for 26 years to a wonderful husband who is always willing to help in any way that he can. She has two children, Ashley, 14, and Casey, 10, who both attend the Lake Norman Charter School. Ashley is a JV Cheerleader at school and this will be Casey’s fourth year playing with the Odell Eagles Jr. Pee Wee football team.
Dixon has taken on the role of team mom for the Eagles. In her own life and with the Eagles she always likes to find the best way to make every situation run smoothly, which as we all know starts with communication. She makes sure that every parent has the information they need to feel that they know exactly what is going on and where.Communication can make or break a team, and with a team mom like Dixon you know that your team is on the right track. As we all know having perfect communication is easier said then done but our Team Parent of the Week makes it look like a piece of cake!
Dixon’s number one recommendation for fellow team moms was to get a group on Weplay! She went on to say “it’s a life saver.” She has found that Weplay has made communication between the team, coaches, players, and parents 100% easier! Another recommendation that Dixon would give to fellow team moms is to have other parents help out with whatever you need. Don’t be afraid to ask for help because as we all know it is not always an easy job to manage a team!
Being a team mom may be hard work but the best experience for Dixon has been getting to know all the children on the team as well as the parents. Having a close team is one of the many stepping stones to a successful season, and as Dixon already knows a close team starts with COMMUNICATION!
Congratulations to this weeks Team Mom, Terri Dixon. The Eagles are very lucky to have a great communicator like you as their team mom! Good luck in your upcoming season! Go Eagles!
