For the second time in as many matches, a ball struck by Abby Wambach's head has helped lift the United States women's soccer team to victory. Yesterday, the girls defeated France by a score of 3-1. The US side was clearly dominant, especially on the defensive end of the field. Goals were also netted by Alex Morgan and Lauren Cheney, in a excellent effort by the US women.
The World Cup Final is this Saturday at 11am Eastern. The only team that stands in the way of the Americans is the Japanese side. It should be a great match, so be sure to tune in!
