Not only is Weplayer Katie Clark gearing up for her 12th birthday tomorrow (Happy early birthday!), she's also our, drum roll please…
December Weplayer of the Month! Congrats, Katie! You won a Kinect™ for Xbox 360® thanks to our friends at Microsoft.
A shortstop and pitcher for the Nitro 99 in North Huntingdon, PA, Kat dreams of playing college ball and hopes to one day see softball return to the Summer Olympics.
Until then, she loves celebrating her love of softball on Weplay. Her favorite game is Click-A-Pic because she likes to check out photos from across the nation. She's always of course, an active member of the Nitro 99 group writing, "It's easy to see when my practices are and talk to all my teammates!"
Kat not only loves playing with her teammates, she enjoys the camaraderie that goes along with success on the field. In fact last summer she had one of her most memorable memories playing softball. Three outs aways in the final inning of a 10U tournament, Kat was on the pitching mound. On the final out she heard the umpire yell, "strike three!".
"I threw my glove up in the air and my teammates were all running towards me," she wrote. It was our 1st championship as a team and it was the best feeling in the world!"
Kat ended her story noting that while she received the game ball, it was a team effort - a sign of a true athlete indeed.
