“It is our intention to mold and develop well rounded student athletes that work collectively as a unit to accomplish a common goal,” wrote devoted team mom, Nakiea Dade from Waldorf, Maryland. She is a loving mother and wife who has a strong desire and commitment to help others, which is why she is our Team Parent of the Week.
Dade is always looking for different ways to get involved with the community. She is an aspiring entrepreneur, cosmetologist, event director, and community activist. Dade took on her first team mom role when her son Amir started playing sports, and has been volunteering ever since. Being able to watch young athletes learn life lessons brings her great joy.
Her husband Kevin is also a huge contributor to youth sports. He is the assistant coach for the Charles County 75 Lbs St. Charles Bears football team, head coach of the Charles County Parks & Rec Hoyas and the CCPR Panthers basketball teams. Their son Amir is a member of them all, which has made it a great way for the Dade’s family to spend time together.
Dade is currently the team parent for the Panthers basketball team. The season has gotten off to a great start so far with a 23-4 win in their first game of the season. Dade hopes that this win will give her boys the confidence to have an overall successful season.
Because of her busy schedule, Dade's biggest priority is to savor the memories of her son and teams, which is why her favorite tool on Weplay is the media gallery. She has been using Weplay for 2 ½ years and has become a huge fan.
