Rebecca Soto, This weeks Team Mom, has been on the sidelines through it all. The blazing heat of summer and the cool rainy games of fall.
After watching her son Kaene play football for the Fullerton Pop Warner Pee Wee Gold Titans for the past four years she has compiled a time tested advice list for both parents and coaches. Top on her advice list is communication. This week's Team Mom feels that communication in any youth sport is key."Get all the information out to the parents as soon as possible and things will be much easier" professes Rebecca.
The second item on her list also deals with communication, and that is "let the parents know up front that all questions and comments are welcome at any time and gossip or bad mouthing coaches will not be tolerated". We tell our parents that our team is "a no drama team.If you want drama join a theater group" That sounds like great advice to us Rebecca!
Our Team Mom's last piece of advice deals with respect. "treat all the players with respect, especially the ones that are more challenging to work with" Hopefully all the kids have moms who love them and if not "they need you even more"
Rebecca Soto of the Fullerton Pop Warner Pee Wee Gold Titans we congratulate you on your selection as this weeks Team Mom and salute you as a proponent of team communications.
