It was a Monday night that Will Lucas will never forget. The 12-year-old righty struck out thirteen over the course of six innings, and threw the first no-hitter in the LLWS since 2008. As if that weren't enough, he also had a 2-run single to help himself out in the fifth. If he wasn't doing it from the mound, he was helping his team in the batters box. First baseman Matt Kubel also homered to help the Fairfield team.
"Once I saw him in the bullpen, I knew it was going to be a good night," said Will's catcher, Biagio Paoletta.
Will was mobbed by his teammates after the final out. Fairfield now looks forward to their next competitor, and we as fans look forward to more world class action.
