Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh are the best female beach volleyball players in the world. Not just that, they're the best team ever. They've absolutely dominated global competition for the last decade, and they've proven to be a source of inspiration for young athletes across the world.

What makes them so dominant?

They've won the Olympic gold medal in the 2004, 2008, and now 2012 games. Not only that, they haven't lost a single match in all of that time. To make things even more impressive, they only lost a single set in these games. They are unsurpassed.

2012 was a challenge for these two queens of the sand. Some doubted their ability to win because of their age. They even said that they planned to retire from competition after 2008 games in Beijing. Well, when you're a voracious worker and world-class athlete-- retiring just isn't in the cards. They bunkered down, trained hard, and now they're Olympic champions, again. Misty and Kerri, you make us proud to be American, way to go!
