Women's US gymnastics won team gold today for the first time since the "Magnificent 7" topped the podium in 1996. This is a momentous occasion for American gymnastics. The women narrowly beat out Russia and Romania for the win.
This is a great comeback for American gymnast Jordyn Wieber, who was the favorite to win overall gold in the singles section of competition. Jordyn fell short of singles gold, but was the cornerstone of this team win. She and her teammates can now return home as an Olympic gold medalists. Way to go!
