Missy Franklin may only be 17, but she already has two Olympic gold medals. Today, she topped the podium for the second time in as many days after winning the women's 4x200m freestyle relay. Her gold medal teammates in the relay were Shannon Vreeland, Dana Vollmer, and Allison Schmitt.
The young Colorodan caught America's heart after she won gold in the women's 100m backstroke Sunday. In a gesture of pure class, she dedicated her first Olympic medal to her home state, in the wake of the tragedy that recently took place in Aurora.
Missy has been called a "pure swimmer," "the female Michael Phelps," and is known for being a class act. She has stayed loyal to her Denver-area swim club since she was 7. (Most world-class swimmers leave their home coaches for "pros")
Missy is eligible for 7 Olympic medals this year, and we here at Weplay will be cheering her all the way! Keep up the good work!
