The foundation of a youth sports team is knowing that everyone is there to support one another, and work together to achieve the team’s overall goals. That is one of the keys to success for our Coach of the Week, Chad Lojewski from Trucksville, PA who has been coaching multiple youth sports teams for over 15 years.
Over the years Lojewski has coached basketball, soccer, baseball, and football but his true passion is basketball. He finds basketball to be a simple game that gives his youth athletes the opportunity to learn many life lessons. These important lessons such as team work, unselfishness, and the ability to adapt to many different situations will help both on and off the court.
Lojewski has not only found support from his team but from his family as well. His wife Carol has been his biggest supporter by keeping a scorebook during the games so he can focus on all his attention on coaching. Lowjewski and Carol have two kids, Drew, 7, and Sara, 11 who both love playing basketball. Lojewski is currently coaching Sara’s DYB Girls Travel basketball team who were the BCH Holiday Champs as well as Drew’s Rock Solid boys basketball team.
As a coach he has found his favorite experience has been watching his team or individual players evolve. Being able to watch them achieve a goal that in the past seemed impossible makes all his hard work and dedication worth while. These are the moments that Lojewski will remember forever.
Chad Lojewski’s Key’s to Success:
- Listen twice as much as you talk
- Always give 100% to whatever you are doing
- Don't ever quit something once you have started it
- Don't be afraid to laugh at yourself once in a while - don't take every situation so seriously
- Surround yourself with good people that can support the team's overall goals
Show your coach how much you appreciate their hard work and dedication by nominating them to be the next Coach of the Week!
