iCalendar Export for Group Calendars

By Candice Coots

Wait for it...

Weplay calendar sync is now available for Outlook, Google Calendar and iCal!

I’m personally thrilled to announce this feature – as much of your support requests have involved the ability to sync team and league calendars with other personal online calendars.

Now you can. It’s as simple as clicking on your team “Calendar”, and selecting the “Subscribe" to this calendar from Outlook, Google Calendar or iCal.”

From there, Copy the URL and "Paste" it into your preferred mail client's "Subscribe" to calendar area. Voila!

The time has come, so enjoy your new calendar sync option. I know the Weplay team is.

Did I do something wrong, because I do not see it on my Gmail calendar?

Hey Coach Danzy - be sure to copy the code for your Weplay calendar and paste it to your google calendar under the "add" section.

Thanks...I got it now. I guess I was too impatient. LOL

The time zone is off for our team, making everything show up 5 hours too early. I can't edit it in my Google Calendar or find a place to set it in the Weplay calendar (maybe because the coach owns it?)

Thank you. You are my hero. I will play with this as soon as I possibly can.

Why did only 1 event show up on my iCal? Our tourn shows, but none of our games, practices, tryouts....anyone?

Love this feature..but have the time zone issue as other poster mentioned. Solution?

Can someone help me? Where do you go in Outlook to paste the URL?

    Hey everyone,

We've added the ability to set a timezone for your Weplay groups. Once set, this will be included in the iCal export and Google will display correct times. Microsoft Outlook and Apple iCal will work correctly with or without a timezone.

Hi, this is fantastic! Thanks so much.

Candice, it would be nice if we were allowed to put props on our calendar. Maybe that could be something that could be added to the calendar. Thanks!!!

Finally, don't forget Yahoo and MSN calendar apps, too.

Glad my requests didn't fall on deaf ears.... Thank you. I can't wait until next hockey season to use it!

    Brilliant!

One thing - can the full location address be output via ics? I am still diving into the Weplay calendars to get the postcode when travelling to away games. that would be the icing on the cake.

    why not Yahoo?

I'm having the same problem as Jodi. The times didn't transfer right. They're showing 5hrs earlier as well.

I have tried adding adding (via URL) to google calendar with no luck. It simply does not display any entries in the google calendar.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Where did the link go? I can't find it now.

Been using WePlay for ~3-4 years now and the timezone thing reared its ugly head. My practices are input into Google Calendar 2 hours behind for some reason. They show up correctly in the WePlay calendar - changing name and details show up correctly (even moving practice forward/backward changes ... but its always 2 hours behind).
