How Weplay can Benefit your Youth Sports Team

By Kim White

As we all know, in this day and age, everything revolves around the Internet, which is why these days almost all youth sports teams have an online presence. For many, the Internet is the key to helping their team stay connected and organized off the field. That’s why our Team Mom of the Week, Kendra Nunn, from Decatur Georgia, has made her new motto “We are going digital in 2011”.

Nunn has been volunteering as a team mom since 2007, when she was nominated by her eldest daughter Alexandria, 17, to help with her softball team. Since then she has not stopped volunteering and is now currently the team mom for her youngest daughter, 10-year-old Andrea’s softball team Exchange Park Lady Panthers. Nunn enjoys her position with the team so much that she’s always thinking or doing something new in order to prepare for the next season. “My duties as team mom are never over,” commented Nunn. A responsibility this week’s team mom absolutely thrives on.

Outside of youth sports Nunn loves volunteering for her career community, and has conducted many classes for local students. Along with her two daughters she also has a son Andre, 12. Nunn enjoys spending time with all her kids, who really have helped her to realize that so much of today’s life style is digital It was this realization that led her to setting up a team page on Weplay.

Weplay has been an essential part of making Nunn’s day to day team mom duties much easier. She can now send updates to parents, give props to players, post schedules, and upload pictures from games all in one place. Nunn told us that It’s a “one stop shop” , for the coaches, players, and parents alike. “The sky is the limit with Weplay,” wrote Nunn who is thankful for all the tools that Weplay provides to her.

Kendra Nunn’s Recommendations for Fellow Team Moms:

  • Stay organized

  • Learn how to delegate

  • Maintain a positive relationship with your parents
