How One Coach Handles a Challenge

By Kim White in

Patience has been the key to success for the North Royalton Bears who currently have a record of 6-4. After ending last season 20-3, the bears were giving the opportunity to move up a division. The team entered this season knowing that it was not going to be as easy and was going to take a lot of hard work. The Bears head coach Gerald Arnholt, believed his team could handle the challenge, which is why he is being honored as our Coach of the Week.

Arnholt is proud that he could be a part of the Bears success. Watching them grow over the years while keeping in mind that they are still kids is how he molds himself as a youth sports coach. His only son, Paul, is a member of the bears, and is one of the main reasons Arntholt became a little league coach seven years ago.

While in high school, Arnholt, volunteered to help out local teams. “One of the players I ran into 15 years later was drafted to the Cleveland Indians Minor league team,” commented Arnholt. He was proud that he had been a part of that athletes success.

Outside of coaching, Arnholt is in the Mortgage business but his hobby as a baseball coach takes up 11 months of the year. As a business man he is always looking for the best ways to keep his team organized, which is why he was so happy to have found a tool like Weplay three years ago. “I love how it reminds the parents and keeps them updated,” wrote Arnholt. He also enjoys keeping track of his scores with our GameChanger feature.

Congratulations Gerry, on being honored as our Coach of the Week. Good luck in the rest of your season. Go Bears!
