Five year veteran coach, Travis Marshall, 33, has found his biggest challenge to be balancing a competitive atmosphere while developing each players skills. Marshall uses his experience as a dad and former youth baseball player to make sure that his team is always having fun while learning the basics. His ability to guide his team to the top while keeping it enjoyable for everyone makes Marshall our Coach of the Week.
Marshall, first got into coaching when his eldest son of three needed a volunteer for his 10U team. From that moment on he has enjoyed watching his players learn and grow every day. He is currently coaching the KC Phillies 8U team from North Kansas City, which his middle son is a member of. This is the first season the Phillies have played together but Marshall is confident this team will play and develop together for a long time.
Outside of coaching, Marshall, is a loving husband with a full time job as a systems administrator. Baseball and his job take up most of his time, which is why Weplay has been the perfect tool for his team. “Propping your players and getting parents information via email is great,” commented Marshall. Both the Phillies and his eldest sons team are on Weplay, which has made Marshall’s life much easier because he can easily stay up to date with both.
Congratulations Marshall, on being named our Coach of the Week. Good luck to you and the Phillies in the final games of your season. Go Phillies!
